Question 1 – Why does our coffee have a taste that is so unique?
Answer – I would like to tell you that I know for sure, but I don’t. It is probably a combination of my antique Diederich Drum Roaster with its coffee oil coating the drum. My dark roasting style that uses the 3’s method (sight, smell and sound) of dumping and cooling each roast, or perhaps my 25 years of roasting experience (no one but me touches my roaster). I’m just not sure!
Question 2 – Do I really get more cups of coffee per pound of dark roasted coffee than lighter roasts?
Answer - Yes, 40-50 cups per Lb. compared to 35 cups average with lighter roasted coffee. Light roasts may be cheaper, but actually 20% or more expensive, because of the cup differential.
Question 3 – How long will the Summer Special (order 3 lbs, get 1 lb free) Last?
Answer – Summer in Tucson lasts till the end of September. Be sure to order before we discontinue this special.
Question 4 – How many scoops per cup should I use to brew my coffee?
Answer – Because of the temperature differential of water inherent in brewers, and the unique taste preferences of coffee drinkers, it is impossible to give you a finite number of coffee scoops per cup. My home brewer (Delongi) takes 1 generous scoop for 2 cups of water. This is a good starting point and can be adjusted to suit your individual taste.
Question 5 – Do I need an expensive espresso brewer to make a good cup of espresso?
Answer – If you drink straight espresso, no. If you need foam for lattes, cappuccino’s, or coffee milk drinks, my advice is to buy the best – the best are expensive. A $20.00 stove top can make a great cup of espresso as long as you use a good espresso roasters beans. Note- Our 1st coffee awards were earned with our espresso. |
